If you have ever seen a magazine ad or catalog for something and then seen the
actual product in person, you know how different the colors can be. That's
just the nature of photography and printing. Images presented on the
Internet are no different.
Everyone's monitor is different and everyone sees colors differently. So how
do you know that the colors you see on your screen are the actual colors of
the rug? Well, the best way is to make sure your monitor is set on Hi-Color
(16 bit) or True Color (24 or 32 bit).
Do this by clicking on the start button (down there at the bottom left). Go
to Settings and then to Control Panel. Once the control panel is open, click
on the Display button. Once the Display screen is open click on the Settings
tab at the top. In the lower middle of the screen you will see a box on the
left that says "colors". Click on the drop down menu and select Hi-Color
from the list.
You may have to restart your computer for the new settings to take effect.
Even in Hi-Color or True-Color modes the monitor's Brightness and Contrast
settings can change the colors dramatically.
Then back to the most important part. . .it's always best to actually see a rug in
person to judge colors and quality. Even if it's a different size or
a different pattern from the same collection, you'll feel better with the results.
